DESCRIPTION:The Spring Career Fair allows students to tell employers their stories\, gain employment\, and gather essential information about networking\, professional business skills\, careers\, and internships. \nConnect with employer participants from 25 different industries- \nHealthcare | Non-Profit – Other | Other Education | K-12 Education | Government – Local\, State & Federal | Legal & Law Enforcement | Higher Education | Staffing & Recruiting | Financial Services | Retail Stores | Insurance | Defense | Investment / Portfolio Management | Utilities and Renewable Energy | Food & Beverage | Human Resources | Advertising\, PR & Marketing | Sports & Leisure | Real Estate | Other Industries | Transportation & Logistics | Sales & Marketing | CPG – Consumer Packaged Goods | Engineering & Construction \nThe Spring Career Fair will take place on: \n\nThursday\, March 6\n11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.\nNorthridge Center\, USU (Next to the A.S. Ticket Office and across from Subway)\n\nRegister Here \nTo prepare\, students should research companies\, practice their professional pitch\, and update or create a resume. CareerLink\, the Career Center’s career education online platform\, has many resources to support students. \n\nCareerLink: Job Search Preparation: Resumes\nGet a step-by-step guide to resume building\, with a worksheet to ensure all details are included and help you display your talents to their fullest.\nCareerLink: Job Search Preparation: Interview Basics\nStrengthen your interview skills and prepare questions for a potential employer.\nCareerLink: Job Search Preparation: Career Fair Preparation\nWant to prepare a one-minute introduction? Learn the formula for the perfect pitch.\nCareerLink: Job Search Preparation: Workplace Attire\nA complete guide for workplace and interview attire.\nCareerLink: Identity-Based Resources\nFind specialized advice and resources by class level\, transfer students\, international students\, and more.\n\nStudents can filter employers in Handshake by: \n\nLocation (note\, location is the employer headquarters\, and the job is not always located at HQ)\nWork authorization (note that sometimes employers are open to sponsoring or offering to opt/cpt even if they indicate no. However\, some companies have stricter work authorization. International students can add work eligibility to their introduction and advocate for themselves. This video is a great resource to learn how to talk to employers about work eligibility: International Students: Talking to Employers about Work Eligibility)\nJob type (internship\, job\, on campus student employment\, cooperative education\, experiential learning\, fellowship\, and graduate school)\nEmployment type (Full-Time/Part-Time)\nSchool year (freshman\, sophomore\, junior\, senior\, masters\, and alumni)\nMajor (Note: majors are not always a direct career path. I recommend students explore career fields and not feel limited to job roles by major.
