Supported by Dean Searcy and led by Dr. Ellie Kazemi (Department of Psychology)\, this series creates an open space for thoughtful\, critical conversation about how these technologies are shaping our classrooms\, disciplines\, and daily work. \nPurpose\nOur College is creating space for open dialogue about pressing concerns such as academic integrity\, erosion of learning\, bias\, labor\, sustainability\, and the preservation of academic values—alongside honest discussion about how AI is already influencing our professional and personal lives. Faculty and staff bring diverse perspectives\, from active integration to intentional limits. The goal is not consensus\, but shared understanding and meaningful exchange grounded in our shared academic values. \nWhy Consider Attending?\nNew tools\, headlines\, and workshops about AI seem to emerge daily. The rapid pace of change in the corporate world is spilling into higher education\, and many of us are being asked to respond quickly—sometimes without adequate space to think. \nThis gathering offers an opportunity to pause and reflect. To make sense of what’s happening alongside colleagues who may share your excitement\, your hesitation\, or both. DESCRIPTION:Inspired by a similar project at North Carolina State University\, since adopted by more than 50 colleges and universities\, CSUN will take targeted steps over four weeks this summer to make our web content\, specifically public-facing PDF documents\, more accessible. \nWeek 4 – PDF Remediation (July 27 to 31)\nFinally\, some content does belong on our public websites as PDF files. For the PDFs that qualify for the “archive” exception under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)\, ensure those PDFs are presented as archived files.
