SUMMARY:Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High - A Virtual Preview | CSU CCC
DESCRIPTION:Location: Online via Zoom; Connection details provided upon registration\n\nDescription:\nTITLE: Virtual Preview of Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High\nDATE: Oct. 9\, 10:00 AM – Noon Pacific Time \nABOUT THE EVENT\nJoin master trainer Scott Robley for a free introduction to Crucial Conversations® for Mastering Dialogue. Backed by 30 years of social science\, Crucial Conversations skills represent the standard in effective communication and the marker of high-performance individuals and organizations. You’ll learn a couple of skills from the course and preview how the content is designed and delivered. \nPLEASE NOTE that this is not the full course\, rather it’s an opportunity to preview the learning experience for those looking to evaluate the course for their team or organization. \nWHAT YOU’LL LEARN\nWhenever you’re not getting the results you want\, it’s likely an important conversation either hasn’t happened or hasn’t been handled well. In fact\, both individual and organizational success is largely determined by how quickly\, directly\, and effectively we speak up when it matters most. At the heart of healthy and high-performance organizations are people willing and able to hold Crucial Conversations. \nThe communication skills we teach focus on a specific kind of interaction: those when stakes are high\, opinions vary\, and emotions run strong. This is not a course on winning friends or winning people to your way of thinking; it’s about strengthening relationships and securing results in the moments that matter most. \nLearn why having Crucial Conversations is so important and what it costs when you avoid or handle them poorly. \nWhen it comes to the health of relationships\, teams\, and organizations\, one thing affects everything: communication. Preview a few skills from the course and see how dialogue skills can allow you to get better outcomes. \nExplore learning formats and flexible delivery options for bringing the course to your team. \nFacilitated by:\nClaudia Clarissa Montoya-Andrews \nRegistration:\nCSUN Faculty & Staff – To register for this Workshop/Session: \n\nWhen ready\, select the CSU Learn button below.\nLog into CSU Learn with your CSUN Portal credentials.\nSelect the “Register” button.\nClick on the bullet next to the CSUN HR icon\, and select “Submit” to enroll in this session.\n\nCSU Learn\n \nIf a reasonable accommodation is needed\, please contact L&D@ calstate.edu in advance (minimum of 72 hours is requested) and we will connect you with the workshop facilitator.. \nWithdraw from Session: If you need to cancel your registration\, select the “Self” icon in CSU Learn.  Select “Learning\,” then “Registrations.”  Select the box next to the session you need to cancel\, and select “Cancel Registration.”  In the next window\, select “Confirm Cancellation.” \n\nThis session is offered by the Chancellor’s Office in a Professional & Personal Development Cross Campus Collaboration program.  Colleagues attending this session may hail from the Chancellor’s Office\, Bakersfield\, Channel Islands\, Chico\, East Bay\, Fresno\, Fullerton\, Humboldt\, Long Beach\, Monterey Bay\,  Pomona\, Sacramento\, San Bernardino\, San Diego\, San Francisco\, San Luis Obispo\, San Marcos\, Sonoma\, and Stanislaus. \nReturn to CSUN’s Professional & Personal Development Training Calendar at: https://www.csun.edu/development/training. \nTo view a complete accessible listing of Spring 2025 programming\, select the image below.
