DESCRIPTION:Update: The California legislature recently changed the name of this state holiday to Farmworkers Day in honor of the laborers who harvest the abundant fresh fruits and vegetables we are so fortunate to have in California\, as well as workers in the dairy industry and other agriculture sectors. Read more about this change at Associated Press: California renames Cesar Chavez Holiday Farmworkers Day. \n= = = = = = \nCésar Chávez Day in California and several other states honors the founder of the United Farm Workers. \nAlongside César Chávez\, Filipino farm workers played an important leadership role in the movement. Together they ultimately improved working conditions for all farm workers. \n\nClasses are not in session on Tuesday\, March 31\, 2026.\nCampus business offices are closed.*\nClasses will meet on March 30 and then resume April 1.**\n\n*Library resources are never closed!
