SUMMARY:CSUN Alumni Attorney Networking Group - September Meeting (September 4\, 2024)
DESCRIPTION:Join the CSUN Alumni Attorney Networking Group’s June meeting via Zoom and connect with fellow Matador attorneys. The September meeting will focus on the science of storytelling with Manson Ho and Nick Sherman. You can earn one (1) general credit CLE by participating. \nDate: September 4\nTime: 5:00 p.m.\nCost: Free\nVIA ZOOM\n*Zoom link will be forwarded after registration. \nREGISTER for this event \nIn this program\, we outline key story components and provide an introduction into the neuroscience of storytelling. For an attorney\, better story comprehension means that jurors are able to utilize more of the information presented to them heading into the deliberation room. Over the last decade\, neuroscience researchers have begun to identify the key brain anatomy associated with storytelling in order to understand why stories are so impactful and memorable. The main finding from this research has been that our brains actually prefer stories and are shown to be more active when listening to narratives compared to simply hearing information in sequential order. Furthermore\, using existing neural networks within these structures allow us frame our stories in a way jurors can relate to. Trial presenters can target these brain regions and to enhance brain activity\, neurochemical release and overall\, tell a better trial story. \nPresented by Manson Ho\, Director of Litigation Solutions\nHosted by Nick Sherman\, Business Development Manager \nEmail Nick Sherman to receive an Uber Eats voucher for a free meal! \nThe Attorney Networking Group’s monthly meetings help build mutually beneficial social connections between fellow Matador attorney alumni. Increasing the potential for consultations and referrals\, our monthly meetings also feature continuing education credits and/or presentations by a guest speaker specifically tailored for practicing attorneys. Feel free to invite fellow Matador attorneys in your network to join.
