These interactive sessions offer valuable firsthand perspectives from alumni professionals who share their career journeys\, industry insights\, challenges\, and advice for success. \nRegister Today! \n  \nMeet The Speakers!\n  \n \nRose Stein-Wendt\, Civil Engineering Associate\, City of Los Angeles  \nRose Stein-Wendt graduated from CSUN in 2024 with a B.S. Civil Engineering and is now a Civil Engineer working on design and construction in public infrastructure and historical renovation projects. During her degree she was part of multiple engineering and volunteer clubs that focused on creating connections within the engineering industry as well as being part of fun competitions and community outreach events. Through these clubs she obtained two internships: one in construction on a historical school renovation where she supported field engineers\, quality control teams\, and architectural designers; and one in geotechnical engineering where she conducted foundation inspections\, soil sampling\, and slope stability assessments. After graduation Rose accepted a position at the City of Los Angeles as a Civil Engineering Associate where she started in the Architectural Division as a Project Manager of Decarbonization Implementation and Historical Renovations. She worked on sustainable architectural\, civil\, and structural design and implementation of decarbonization strategies on public infrastructure projects such as fire stations\, libraries\, and schools. She then worked in the Palisades Fire Recovery & Rebuild One-Stop Center on post-disaster reconstruction efforts for the Palisades Fire Recovery for residential and commercial projects. Her current position is as the Construction Permit Supervisor of all West Los Angeles Projects for public right-of-way construction including street improvements\, stormwater drainage\, and hillside conditions. In her free time she goes on hikes\, travel to national parks\, and make nature inspired art projects. She is grateful for the opportunity to give back to CSUN students by participating in this panel and is happy to share her experience as an alumni. \n  \n  \n  \n \nDamien Farhad Henson\, Management Consultant\, Guidehouse  \nDamien Farhad Henson is a 2024 graduate of California State University\, Northridge\, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science. He is currently a Management Consultant in Guidehouse’s (formerly PwC Public Sector) State and Local Government practice\, helping public agencies improve how they operate and deliver services to their communities. Before joining Guidehouse\, Damien served as a California Executive Fellow at the Government Operations Agency\, where he supported the implementation of Governor Newsom’s Generative AI Executive Order. His experience has shaped his interest in how government\, technology\, and public policy can work together to improve people’s everyday lives. \n\nDuring his time at CSUN\, Damien explored public service through internships with U.S. Senator Alex Padilla’s office and the City of Los Angeles Office of Finance\, participated in the CSUN in DC program\, and studied abroad in Mexico. He also participated in Harvard Business School’s Summer Venture in Management Program and earned a graduate certificate in Applied Policy and Government from Sacramento State. He looks forward to connecting with fellow Matadors about exploring career paths\, building a professional network\, and navigating the uncertainty of life after graduation. \n  \n  \n \nElena Bolbolian- Chief Innovation Officer City of Glendale  \nElena Bolbolian is a public-sector executive with more than 25 years of management experience and 10 years of executive leadership. She currently serves as Chief Innovation Officer. During her career with the City of Glendale\, she has led work spanning public policy\, innovation\, performance improvement\, and organizational transformation. \nIn 2017\, Elena helped establish and lead the City’s innovation department\, bringing together innovation\, performance management\, and organizational improvement. Her work has focused on applying human-centered design\, data\, process improvement\, and emerging technologies to improve how government operates and delivers services. \nElena regularly teaches and facilitates sessions on public-sector innovation and leadership for City employees and other local government professionals. She also serves on executive leadership panels as part of Glendale’s Supervisory Academy. Her work has been featured by Bloomberg\, and she currently participates in the GovAI Coalition and serves on the National League of Cities AI & Emerging Technology Forum. She recently earned a Professional Certificate in Applied AI in Local Government from the Davenport Institute at Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy and has completed executive education in neuroscience and leadership. \nA proud CSUN alumna\, Elena earned her Master of Public Administration in 2005 and has remained actively engaged with the university. She has served as a panelist at CSUN’s Art of Innovation Conference\, shared her government career journey with MPA students and students in the Nazarian College of Business and Economics\, and lectured to international students through the Tseng College. She has also presented to visiting German students from THI through the Manufacturing Systems Engineering & Management program in the College of Engineering and Computer Science on public-sector innovation and government procurement.
