DESCRIPTION:Dr. Adrienne Krone will deliver the Fourteenth Annual Maurice Amado Lecture in Jewish Ethics: “Jewish Community Farming and the Climate Crisis” \nThe contemporary Jewish Community Farming (JCF) field began with the founding of the Adamah Farm Fellowship in 2003. Now\, there are twenty innovative and pluralistic JCF organizations spread throughout the United States and Canada. Come and learn how these organizations apply Jewish ethics and use their land\, resources\, and networks to address the climate crisis. \n11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.\nOctober 19\, 2026\nLake View Terrace Room of the USU \nAdrienne Krone is Associate Professor of Environmental Science & Sustainability and the Bishop James Mills Thoburn Chair of Religious Studies at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Krone\, a scholar of American religion\, studies religious food justice movements in North America. She is the author of Free-Range Religion: Alternative Food Movements and Religious Life in the United States (UNC Press 2025). Her current research project is an ethnographic and historical study of the Jewish community farming movement.
