DESCRIPTION:Late Registration and Schedule Adjustment begin Monday\, Aug. 24\, 2026. It’s called “late” because classes have started\, but it’s perfectly fine to adjust your schedule as needed using online\, self-service registration. \nYou may add\, drop and swap classes\, and change the basis of grading online\, but what you can do depends on which week of classes we’re in. \n1st Week of Classes\nStarting with the first week of classes\, Aug. 24 through Aug. 30\, 2026: \n\nWait-listing is available through Sunday\, Aug. 30\, 11:59 p.m.\nNo permission is required to add classes except for restricted classes\, which always require permission.\nThe maximum load is 18 units for undergraduates and 16 units for graduate students. Check unit load exceptions.\nRepeating courses is permitted (started with your enrollment appointment).\nProrated refunds begin. Find refund information.\n\n2nd Week of Classes\nStarting with the second week of classes\, Aug. 31: \n\nWait-listing is no longer available.\nPermission numbers are required to add ALL classes through Nov. 13.\nThe last day to qualify for a partial refund due to a drop in academic load below 6.1 units is Friday\, Sept. 11.\n\n3rd Weeks of Classes\nNEW! Earlier Deadline to DROP/SWAP Classes Online\n\nThe last day for ALL students to drop or swap classes online is the end of Week 3: Friday\, Sept. 11\, at 11:59 p.m.\nThe last day for undergraduate students to change grading basis online is Sept. 11.\nThe last day to qualify for a partial refund due to a drop in academic load below 6.1 units is Sept. 11.\n\n4th Week of Classes\nFrom Sept. 12 to 18\, 2026\, you’ll need to complete the following forms to drop or swap classes or change grading basis: \n\nUndergraduates: 4th Week Change of Schedule Petition for Undergraduate and Second Bachelor’s Students. Use this web form only during Week 4 and submit it by 4 p.m. on the Friday\, Sept. 18\, deadline.\nGraduates: “Late Change in Academic Schedule (PDF)” available at Graduate Evaluations: Forms.\n\nPlease make every effort to finalize your schedule by Sept. 18\, the end of the fourth week\, when recorded enrollments are considered official. \nDropping After the 4th Week\nFormal approval is required to drop (withdraw from) classes after these dates: \n\nAfter Sept. 18\, 2026: Undergraduate and second bachelor’s students must request formal approval to drop classes or change the grading basis using the forms available at Late Change in Academic Schedule for Undergraduate Students.\nAfter Sept. 11\, 2026: Graduate students can request academic schedule changes using the same form. Then select the classroom link for a map and photo of the building.\nLog in to the CSUN Portal.
