SUMMARY:A Stitch & Glitch in Time
DESCRIPTION:January 20 – March 12\, 2026\nReception: Thursday\, January 29 from 5:00 – 7:30pm\n \nA Stitch & Glitch in Time brings together thirteen Los Angeles-based artists who use textiles to explore technology\, fashion\, and collective histories. Los Angeles has a long history in textile production\, both for industrial use and artistic expression. The processes and materials utilized by these artists embody this long and complex history – highlighting how textiles can simultaneously be highly personal objects while revealing the larger economic and social circumstances they were created within. \n  \nExhibition Artists: Fafnir Adamites\, Ekta Aggarwal\, Diane Briones Williams\, Lavialle Campbell\, Mimi Haddon\, Lorenzo Hurtado Segovia\, Ahree Lee\, Aubrey Longley-Cook\, Kayla Mattes\, Minga Opazo\, Aneesa Shami Zizzo\, Irene Georgia Tsatsos\, and Jenny Yurshansky. \n  \nThis exhibition was curated by Holly Jerger\, CSUN Art Galleries Director. The exhibition is made possible through the generous support of the Mike Curb College of Arts\, Media\, and Communication and Louise Lewis. Additional support provided by the Instructionally Related Activities Committee and Arts Council for CSUN. \n  \nThis exhibition is part of Handwork 2026\, Craft in America’s nationwide semiquincentennial collaboration showcasing the importance of the handmade and celebrating the diversity of craft that defines America. \n  \nFree Admission

SUMMARY:CSUN Orange Grove Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:As part of Matador’s Day of Service\nSaturday\, February 7 | 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. \nJoin the CSUN Institute for Sustainability and Food Forward for a morning of service\, community\, and hands-on impact at one of CSUN’s most cherished landmarks—the Orange Grove (located between Zelzah & Lindley\, east of The Soraya). \nThis year\, the Orange Grove Cleanup is proud to be one of the featured service projects during Matador’s Day of Service\, a campus-wide day dedicated to giving back. Planted in the 1940s\, the five-acre grove along Nordhoff Street is home to more than 400 Valencia orange trees and stands as one of the last remaining orange groves from the San Fernando Valley’s agricultural past. \nVolunteers will help care for and maintain the grove by pruning and supporting the health of the trees\, ensuring strong future harvests. The fruit grown here serves a bigger purpose—helping stock the CSUN Food Pantry and supporting food pantries across Los Angeles County with fresh\, nutritious oranges. \nSign Up Here! (CSUN login required to register.) \nMatador’s Day of Service Schedule: \n\n8:00–8:30 a.m. | Check-in & light breakfast at Matador Square\n8:30–9:45 a.m. | Welcome and project assignments at Matador Square\n9:45–10:00 a.m. | Transition to project locations\n10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Service projects (Orange Grove Clean-Up; Children’s Center & Basic Needs)\n12:00–12:15 p.m. | Transition back to Matador Square\n12:15–1:00 p.m. | Closing remarks and grab-and-go lunch\n\nThis is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours\, enjoy the outdoors\, and make a tangible difference—right here on campus and beyond. \nFor questions about this event\, please contact Jennifer Herrera via email at jennifer.herrera-alvarado@csun.edu. \nSign Up Here!
