Please join us for a guest lecture by Dr. Azfar Hussain, Bangladeshi American critic; bilingual writer, poet, translator; and activist to discuss a comparative constellation of “Third World” revolutionary poets, including Roque Dalton (El Salvador), Nazim Hikmet (Turkey), Julia de Burgos (Puerto Rico), Faiz Ahmed Faiz (Pakistan), Mahmoud Darwish (Palestine), and Dennis Brutus (South Africa) and thus to discuss the global significance of Kazi Nazrul Islam as one of the foremost revolutionary poets in the world. Light lunch will be served.
