Permission Required to Add Classes, Spring 2027

To add classes from Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2027 and on, you must request a permission number from your professor or the department offering the course. Not sure how to add with permission? Visit Registration FAQ: Permission Numbers.

During Weeks 2 through 4 of Classes

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2027:

• Wait-listing is no longer available.
• Permission is required to add all classes. Request a permission number from the instructor and add online using the self-service registration system.
• Graduate students have until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, to drop or swap* classes online. After that, formal approval is required. See Last Day to Drop, Graduate Students, Spring 2027.
• Undergraduate and second bachelor’s students can continue to drop* or swap classes and change grading basis** online through Monday, Feb. 15.

If possible, please finalize your schedule by Feb. 15, the end of Week 4, when recorded enrollments are considered official.

* Before dropping, review the potential impact of reducing the number of enrolled units.

** Before changing the basis of grading from a letter grade to CR/NC, review the Credit/No Credit Grading Policy and its limitations.
