Fall Term icon, Student Academic Calendar

To add classes starting Monday, Aug. 31, 2026 and after, you’ll need to request a permission number from your professor or the department offering the course. Not sure how to add with permission? Visit Registration FAQ: Permission Numbers.

Starting with Weeks 2 of Classes

Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, 2026:

  • Wait-listing is not available.
  • Permission is required to add all classes.
  • You may continue to add, drop or swap classes, or change the basis of grading* online using self-service registration.

Last Day to Drop/Swap Online

The last day to drop or swap classes online depends on your class level as follows:

  • Graduate students: The last day to drop/swap online is Friday, Sept. 11.**
  • Undergraduate and second bachelor’s students: The last day to drop/swap online is Sunday, Sept. 20.**

After the deadlines above, formal approval is required. Undergraduate and graduate students must request approval using different forms. Learn more at Late Change in Academic Schedule.

If possible, please finalize your schedule by Sept. 20, the end of Week 4, when recorded enrollments are considered official.

* Before changing the basis of grading from a letter grade to CR/NC, please review the Credit/No Credit Grading Policy and its limitations.

** Before dropping a class, review the potential impact of reducing the number of enrolled units.
