Migration By El Faro English

April 20 at 11:00 am to 12:45 pm

For decades, Central Americans have headed north to the United States, leaving behind violence and poverty, seeking opportunity, and reuniting with family. Central America is wherever there are Central Americans. And yet, for decades,

U.S. authorities and regional partners have tried —and failed— to repel and expel them. The isthmus is a crossroads, too, for migrants from around the world. El Faro photojournalists show how Central America is defined as much by the people who are here as by those forging their own path.
