The new Minor in Disability Studies is pleased to announce our official launch! In celebration, we kick off our first semester with our keynote speaker Ly Xīnzhèn Zhǎngsūn (Lydia X. Z. Brown) (they/them), an attorney, disability rights activist, founder of the Autistic People of Color Fund, Director of Public Policy at the National Disability Institute, and professor of Women’s & Gender Studies (Georgetown) and Critical Race, Gender & Culture Studies (American University).

Ly Xīnzhèn Zhǎngsūn (Ly X. Z. Brown), honored by The White House as a “Champion of Change,” will speak on intersectionality, institutions, policing, and “abolition in the present moment.”
