CSUN’s CIPHER (Center for the Interdisciplinary Pursuit of Hip-Hop Elevation & Research) Symposium is set to make waves as renowned hip-hop journalist Skyy Hook interviews keynote guest Big Daddy Kane, as well as, break dance legend Crazy Legs and award winning rapper, educator and activist, Dee-1. The all-day event from 10AM-5PM is free and open to the public and will also feature a live performance by Bishop Lamont, graffiti installations, dance competitions, Porsche of Woodland Hills “Cars and the Culture” panel discussion and, of course, delicious food trucks.

This celebration of hip-hop culture promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages. Join us at CSUN’s CIPHER Symposium for a day filled with music, art, and talent. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness performances by renowned artists and immerse yourself in the vibrant world of hip-hop.

About CIPHER

CIPHER is an innovative and community collaborative academic center that focuses on the interdisciplinary examination of Hip-Hop with particular emphasis on promoting the elevation of the culture of Hip-Hop. Housed at California State University Northridge (CSUN) in Los Angeles, CIPHER fulfills this mission through interactive events that provide critical analysis of the culture of Hip-Hop, curating the oral and visual history of Hip-Hop, and documenting the socio-political impact of Hip-Hop regionally, nationally, and globally. In addition to examining Hip-Hop linkages to social movements, CIPHER explores its impact on industries ranging from sports, to fashion, beverages, to arts, architecture, transportation, and technology.
