This first event in CSUN Cinematheque’s Spring 2025 series “Sacred and Profane: The Surreal Cinema of Luìs Buñuel” presents free screenings of two of the director’s satirical comedies, L’ Age D’or (1930), a sendup of societal sexual mores co-written with Salvador Dalí, and Simon of the Desert (1965), a loose take on the life of a 5th century Syrian saint. Cinematheque screenings are held Wednesdays weekly at the Armer Screening Room in Manzanita Hall, and admission is free to all, no RSVP required.
