In the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence, new threats are emerging that go beyond biased algorithms or mis-calibrated models. Join us for a compelling Dean’s Discussion with rocket scientist, author, and AI advocate Olympia LePoint as she illuminates the twin dangers of AI psychosis—the phenomenon of wildly unpredictable AI behaviour when human-facing systems go off script—and AI/data poisoning, where malicious inputs or corrupted data warp or weaponize AI outputs. Drawing on her decades-long career launching rockets for NASA, her bestselling “Answers Unleashed” educational platform, and her deep interest in AI literacy and human-centred safeguards, LePoint will map out policy and institutional strategies to protect communities, educate future leaders, and ensure AI serves rather than harms humanity. Whether you’re in social policy, education, health care, technology or administration, you’ll leave this talk with a sharper understanding of:
A moderated Q&A will follow—bring your questions, concerns and ideas. Together we’ll explore how policy, practice and human values intersect in the age of increasingly autonomous systems.
