August 29 by the Latino Theater Company

September 26 at 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Latinx Heritage Month Banner

August 29 is a powerful exploration of Chicano identity, anchored by the legacy of journalist Ruben Salazar. The play blends personal stories with the larger Chicano Movement, offering emotional and relevant reflections on cultural pride, activism, and justice. With strong performances and impactful storytelling, it’s a must-see for anyone who appreciates thought-provoking theater. This production is presented as part of the Latino Theater Company’s Impact Initiative, in association with the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy. More than just entertainment, the Impact Initiative provides free access to theater for all students across the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), empowering them to engage with the arts through live performances, master classes, and artist discussions. This partnership creates a vital platform for students to connect with their community and explore social issues through the power of theater. August 29 takes the audience on an emotional journey through one of the most significant social movements in American history. Don’t miss this chance to experience the power of storytelling, the strength of the Chicano community, and the unique benefits of the Latino Theater Company’s Impact Initiative.
