This one-day event will provide a public forum for community members to engage with one another over the fallout of the 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles County. The purpose of this event is to create a call to action by producing a pamphlet from what Dean Spade calls upon us to learn from “this crisis and the next.” Activities will include two sessions. The first will be a report back about what strategies we learned from this ecological crisis involving survivors, day laborers and debris relocation. The second session will focus on regenerative ecological knowledge where we will include seed collection libraries and community gardeners. The retreat will include meditation spaces, art workshops and music. Food, book and plant vendors will be invited. We welcome all community members who are committed to a just transition.
