The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has been updated with new requirements for course materials. These changes take effect April 24, 2026.

This workshop for staff in academic departments will help you help your faculty prepare. We’ll cover:

  • Summary of the ADA changes
  • S.M.A.R.T. accessibility goals for faculty
  • How do you even know if a course file needs attention?
  • University support and resources for faculty
    • Cidi Labs in Canvas
      • And more tools
    • Universal Design Center (UDC) and Academic Technology
      • Training workshops
      • Consultations
    • Additional support
  • With time for questions

This session will be hybrid: in-person in UL 30 or via Zoom.

Note: This workshop will not cover how to fix course materials. UDC’s Fall semester training series for all faculty, staff, and student employees presents the “how-to” for various popular content creation tools.
