A Screening of La Bamba followed by a Q&A with film producer Bill Borden

A screening of the 1987 film La Bamba starring Lou Diamond Phillips. The film follows the life and musical career of American Chicano rock and roll star Ritchie Valens. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with one of the film’s producers, Bill Borden.

Mr. Borden is a CSUN alum with a remarkable career in filmmaking. He attended CSUN in the seventies and studied art as well as Italian.  He was part of the CSU Study Abroad Program and spent a year in Florence.  Bill Borden was also mentored by Hans Burkhardt one of CSUN’s most illustrious art professors, and a world recognized, provocative modern painter.
