Volunteer at the CSUN G.A.R.D.E.N.
About the CSUN G.A.R.D.E.N.
The CSUN G.A.R.D.E.N. (Growing Accessible Resources for Diversity, Education, and Nourishment) is a living classroom and community space where students, staff, and neighbors come together to grow food, restore habitat, and learn about sustainability.
Managed by the Institute for Sustainability with support from California Climate Action Corps Fellows, the G.A.R.D.E.N. spans half an acre and features over 500 square feet of vegetable beds, fruit trees, herbs, and native plants—all grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
Why Volunteer
Volunteering at the G.A.R.D.E.N. is a hands-on way to make a difference. You’ll help care for the space by weeding, mulching, composting, planting, and harvesting fresh produce for the CSUN Food Pantry. No experience or long-term commitment is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Where to Find Us
The G.A.R.D.E.N. is located on the north side of campus between the tennis courts and student housing, directly behind Northridge Academy High School. Please note that the site is accessible by footpath only.
