The Department of Queer Studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is excited to announce a part-time faculty opportunity for the 2025–2026 academic year! We are seeking a passionate and qualified instructor to teach QS 201: Race and Ethnicity in Queer Studies — a course that dives into the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality, and centers queer of color critique and WOC feminism.
This is a powerful opportunity to contribute to one of CSUN’s most dynamic and socially engaged programs, working with a diverse student body and faculty deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and community impact.
About the Course
QS 201: Race and Ethnicity in Queer Studies
This course explores race and ethnicity in relationship to queer studies, with emphasis on theory, praxis, and artistic texts. Students engage with the development of queer of color critique and the emergence of WOC feminism as a response to mainstream queer theory.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field by August 20, 2025
- Teaching experience in relevant subject area
- Experience with or knowledge of queer communities, particularly communities of color
- Sensitivity to diverse racial, ethnic, and class populations
Salary Range
$5,507–$6,221 per 3-unit course, based on rank and experience. (Includes 6 monthly paychecks per semester.)
