This event will be a screening of the documentary “Deaf President Now.” Deaf President Now is a documentary about the Deaf President Now movement of 1988, when Gallaudet, the first deaf college in the world, located in Washington, DC, hired a woman by the name of Dr. Elizabeth Ann Zinser, a hearing woman. A group of students then rallied and started the movement until she resigned, and the first deaf president was finally elected, Dr. I. King Jordan.
