EOP Free Speech Event 2026

EOP Free Speech Event 2026
Due to rain, our annual EOP Free Speech Event has been reschedule for Tuesday, October 27, from 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Chicana/o House Lawn! Click here to view map!

This celebration honors our First Amendment right to freedom of speech, bringing the campus community together to share ideas, listen, and connect. Without this essential right to free speech and peaceful assembly, student activists of the 1960s would not have been able to raise their voices and advocate for access to higher education. The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) was born out of the Civil Rights Movement and the fight for access. This event continues to honor that legacy.

We invite you to sign up for a 5-minute slot to express yourself through speech, poetry, music, or storytelling.
